I don't know about getting RH to automatically save a draft E-mail, but if the client computer is losing its network connection, you might have bigger problems. The best solution would be to solve the networking issue as this could lead to a lot of problems with any network based application... such as "user was in the middle of scheduling an activity when they lost connection"... "user was in the middle of creating a contact when they lost connection" ... , etc.
