It would be really nice to have the option to update a field through the work flow module.
This way a field could be updated that would trigger other work flow.

As well, what about opening up the work flow to also work against the contact or account record?
This way we could use to it replace the ini file settings that allowed automatic updates to fields based on the impute of other fields.
This would negate the need to create a separate SQL trigger for each field update required
