Re: RHOlink07 self uninstalls

The RHOLink will reliably stay active in a single Windows user profile and environment. As I understand it on a laptop such as yours there is a docked profile and an undocked profile. In addition you are logging into Windows in two separate environments. In the office and at home. You cannot expect the RHOLink to remain 'on' from one environment to the next 100% of the time.

OK. Let's simplify this and skip the whole plugin not remaining active in multiple environments discussion. While I have the capability to boot in 2nd environment, I have not been doing so and RHOLINK still disables itself.

So when I'm expoeriencing symptom, here's what I've been doing. I run outlook and redhorse all day. At end of day, I shut both applications down. I power off the lap top. Following morning I put laptop into docking station, power it on and bring up outlook and redhorse. Sometimes rholink is disabled and sometimes it's not. What information can I gather to help redhorse support to root cause this behavior? I'd like to get to the bottom of this because it's a pain in the tail to go and check plugin behavior first thing every morning.

Re: RHOlink07 self uninstalls

Not sure if this helps but I too had the issue you are describing.  I was becoming very frustrated as well and assume it was the RedHorse Outlook Link.  Well it was not!  It appears for me to be the same as described by RedHorse Support above.  I have a laptop as you do, I used a docking station at the office and another at home.  Sounds similar to your setup.

I changed my login to make sure that I used the same DOMAIN / Profile from in office and at home.  By having one profile, I believe its been a couple of months since I've seen any issue.

One thing I still notice is that if I am at home and the VPN is not connected, the RHOLink will complain about the drive not being available but it still moves forward and later it is NOT  gone/shutdown.

My installation is stable and I now run an environment where RedHorse is the center of the "Contact/Business" world for me.

I run RH, Outlook, Apps.Google and the associated Outlook/Google sync back to my local Outlook.

My Droidx communicates fulltime with Google contacts (my contacts from Outlook - sourced in RH of course), mail and calendars (again sourced from RH via RHOlink).  Meaning that I have essentially all the information I need on the phone as well as online as well as in RH. Finally, it seems like I never have to say "....darn, I dont have that with me....."

To put this in perspective, we are a RedHorse dealer - so we might be a bit biased, but RH is not our only represented solution but is one of the top solutions for our customer base.  We have just gone to an environment where we will all run DroidX devices communicating as described.  I know we'll have future input but we feel that RH as the base is a strong starting point.

That was a bit off topic but, the solution to your issue is probably the 1 account login from where ever you are on your laptop.

Maybe that "Yoda" found you and led you to the light!

Randy
