RHOlink07 self uninstalls

RedHorse 2.5.3568.0

Outlook 2007 SP2

WindowsXP SP3

I had been running Outlook 2003 with RHOlink03. Emails linked properly. Updated to outlook 2007, successfully installed RHOlink07 and mails were being linked into RedHorse just fine.

At some point email messages stopped being linked. I went looking and could find no trace of RHOlink07 in outlook or redhorse. I didn't uninstall it myself. Similar behavior has been observed by a co-worker.

Any hints?

The link might become inactive from time to time. You can reactivate it in Outlook by going into Tools >> Trust Center >> Add-Ins >> choose COM Add-ins at the bottom and click Go. Then in the list of Add-ins find RHOLink07. Check the box and click OK. RHOLink07 will now be available in Outlook.

Re: RHOlink07 self uninstalls

OK that seemed to work when I discovered RHOlink not functioning this morning.

Any ideas on root causes or ways to avoid it? It's a serious useability issue in that we're trying to use the CRM as a communications repository and with the silent nature of the symptom, it's hard to know when it stiopped and what emails need to be propagated back into redhorse.

Do you leave Outlook running all night?

We have not determined excatly what 'causes' your issue. But we believe that that the RedHorse Outlook link will go inactive if it is not able to connect to the Redhorse SQL database at any point during its operation.

Re: RHOlink07 self uninstalls

Really? How incredibly delicate is this solution? It had disabled itself yesterday. I re-enabled. I came in this morning an lo and behold.... rholink was disabled yet again.

FWIW my install is on a lap top. I shut down and undock every night. I redock and power on either in the morning via physical network or at home via vpn. I do not leave either outlook or redhorse running continuously.

Channeling Yoda... Happy, I am not. Satisfied, I am not.

To resolve this behavior, what can I do to gather data that will help you root cause the problem?
